Library of Government Information

The Library of Government Information collects, stores and maintains studies, reports, monographs, periodicals, circulars printed materials, books and other publications printed on or about the District government. The Library maintains in its holdings District of Columbia City Directories (1931-1957), Reports of the Board of Commissioners (1874-1960), the Ellison Commission Report, Congressional Reports on the District of Columbia and other related publications printed on the District of Columbia.

You may request a District of Columbia Archives search by completing a Public Records Research Request Form or by calling the Library at (202) 671-1105 to schedule an appointment to access its onsite reports, studies and publications.
