Notary and Authentication Services

The Office of Notary Commissions and Authentications (ONCA) is open to the public for Notary and Authentications.  Our hours are from 9 AM - 1 PM, Monday-Friday, except holidays.  No appointment is needed.  Service usually takes about 5-10 minutes.

The District of Columbia Office of Notary Commissions and Authentications is open to the public Monday through Friday, with walk-in hours from 9 am to 1 pm. The Office bestows Notary commissions to qualified individuals who seek to become a DC notary or who are renewing their existing DC commission. The Office also serves those citizens seeking authentication of documents that are going to be conveyed abroad or to other jurisdictions. The Office of Notary Commissions and Authentications does not provide notarization of documents as a service.
 
Documents brought to the office for authentication should already be properly notarized by a DC notary, if appropriate.
