Thursday, September 11, 2025, marks the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in suburban Pennsylvania. The United States and District of Columbia flags on District buildings and grounds shall be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to honor the bravery of first responders and the resilience of survivors, families, and communities. This solemn observance remembers the lives lost in New York City, Arlington, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
