Pete Piringer is a Ward 2 resident with more than 40 years of professional experience. Piringer is currently detailed to the Executive Office of the Mayor in Washington, DC. He most recently was the Chief Spokesperson and Director of Public Information for the District of Columbia Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department in Washington, DC. He has several decades of public safety experience and has served as public information officer for several large departments in the Washington, DC area, including the Montgomery County, MD, Fire and Rescue Service, Prince George’s County, MD, Fire/EMS and the Maryland State Police. He is president of the College Park, MD, Volunteer Fire Department where he has been a member for over 40 years. Piringer was the recipient of the Prince George’s County Gold Medal of Valor in 1986.
