Secretary Announces Award of Grants to Promote DC Self-Determination
On July 15, 2011, the District of Columbia issued a Request for Applications from nonprofit organizations with a history of promoting DC self determination, voting rights and statehood.
Today, the Secretary of the District of Columbia announced that two grants will be awarded to promote self-determination, voting rights and statehood for the District of Columbia from FY 2011 funding.
- DC Vote will be awarded a grant of $150,000, and
- Stand Up! For Democracy in DC Coalition will be awarded a grant of $50,000.
