Public Records Disposition Committee

The District of Columbia Records Disposition Committee reviews, revises, amends and approves all records retention schedules submitted for consideration by the Public Records Administrator. The Committee accepts non-public records donated to the District of Columbia Archives that have historic significance and supplement the collection of the Archives. It resolves policy issues between the Office of Public Records and agencies of District government that pertain to the disposition of records.

State Historical Records Advisory Board

The Historical Records Advisory Board receives, reviews, and makes recommendations on all grant applications to fund historical records projects in the District of Columbia. The Chairman of the Board serves as the State Records Coordinator for the District of Columbia who works closely with the National Historical Publications Records Commission in preserving historical and permanently valuable records of the District of Columbia.  Also, the Board serves as an advisory body that makes recommendations to the Mayor on collecting, preserving, and conserving historical records of the District government.
